Which Aviation Technologies To Meet The 2050 European Environmental Goals?

The Honourable Member of the European Parliament, Marian-Jean Marinescu, and the Horizon Europe project PULSAR are delighted to invite you to an exchange on European aviation research and innovation roadmaps for the reduction of noise, emissions and climate impact.

This PULSAR event at the European Parliament aims at connecting policymakers, industry players as well as citizens with environment- and climate-friendly aviation technologies and solutions for the collective progress of the sector. The following topics will be highlighted:


  • The overall PULSAR approach is to issue recommendations based on a European Environmental Research & Innovation Roadmap, for lowering Noise, CO2 and non-CO2 Emissions and associated climate impact, and for increasing the use of Sustainable Aviation Fuels, with 2030 and 2050 goals.


  • Key insights of future aviation, based on different social, economic and geopolitical scenarios that are underlying such an approach.


  • An outlook towards 2070 for the most advanced technological innovations, which could enter into service beyond 2040.


Furthermore, Impact Monitor, the EU-funded Horizon Europe project complementary to PULSAR, will showcase its activities, holistic impact assessment framework and toolbox, with use cases at aircraft, airport, and air transport system levels.

PRACTICAL INFORMATION

Please find below all practical information, including details about entering the European Parliament:

- The entrance will start at 10:20 and will end at 10:50. The event starts at 11:00. Please respect the time slot, the entry process takes time. To enter the Parliament, all participants need to show a valid identity document (ID card or passport). All visitors and bags are subject to airport-style security checks before entry.

- To enter the Parliament, you also need a badge. For the participants who do not have access badges, you will be able to collect it on the day of the event at the meeting point (details below). For the participants who already have an access badge, please still respect the entry time slot, since the Parliament is rather busy at that time.

- Meeting point: the organisers will wait for the participants in front of the Altiero Spinelli building, right at the stairs, in the Simone Veil Agora.
