The Denmark Open tournament is one of the highlights of the international badminton circuit, and is one of the major European legs on the BWF tour. It enjoys a reputation as a family-friendly event which cultivates an intimate fan experience, with plenty of off-court entertainment taking place alongside the world-class action on the court. Fans' enjoyment of the event is one of the many reasons the Denmark Open has endured since it was first held in 1936. Danes took home the winners’ medals in all 5 draws at that inaugural tournament, but the competition has since become more diverse – there were in fact no Danish winners at the 2023 tournament!

The Denmark Open is currently held at the Jyske Bank Arena in Odense, just a short distance across the city from the tournament's previous home, the Odense Sports Park. g
