Les Royaumes is a futuristic play that tells the story of a group of anthropologists who set up shop in a ruined church, following in the footsteps of a vanished community. The play travels through time, in strata, and tells the story of this abandoned church at different times, between 2030 and 2095. Do we even know what happened? How did this group of men and women live? Did they really disappear?
Deliberately vacillating between farce and tragedy, author and director Jérémie Fabre's play is an inspired, baroque mystical quest in which the ruined church is the main character. A place shrouded in mystery, it invites each spectator to plunge into an investigation in the form of an iconoclastic epic.
