Huit Nuits stands at the confluence of French chanson and contemporary music. A veritable chimera of combined talents, the quartet offers us a timeless encounter between song and poetry, skilfully blending cello, guitar, intertwined voices, keyboards and percussion. Manon Basile and Pierrick Le Bras share vocals, guitar and cello with disconcerting spontaneity. Their timbres blend together, creating the illusion of a double voice. The bewitching melodies are adorned with simple, deep chords, and the magic is immediately at work on their bittersweet tracks with their singular, poetic lyrics. Musicians Bertrand Geslin and Pierre Cabannes complete the osmosis with their subtle, imaginative playing. A frail skiff skirting the wild coast of emotions, Huit Nuits takes us on a nocturnal odyssey of luminous breakthroughs.
