Two brothers, Nico and Fred, formed the group Archimède in Laval in the mid-2000s. One writes and sings, the other strums and composes. They began honing their first songs in garages and prefabs, just out of their teens? a stone's throw from their hometown. Songs written in broken English at the time? They quickly realized that singing in their mother tongue would be the best way to speak about their times, to deliver a vision of the world, to communicate emotions, to hope for an audience beyond their native Mayenne. So, having infused the music their fathers listened to while they themselves were revising their first grammars, they set about crossing French chanson with Britpop. It all came together: 5 albums between 2009 and 2019; nominations at the Victoires de la Musique awards; numerous radio appearances; critical acclaim?
