In the run-up to the Paris 2024 Olympic and Paralympic Games, the Fédération Française de Randonnée is launching an exceptional event: the Grande Randonnée vers Paris. The aim of this initiative is to unite hikers and walkers from all over France, setting off from 16 towns in mainland France on 7 main routes, all converging on the capital. As part of this initiative, the towns of Clamecy and Varzy will be welcoming ambassadors and other walkers, as well as any curious onlookers who may accompany them. Various events will be held at the arrivals in Varzy and Clamecy. The Grande Randonnée vers Paris is organised under the patronage of the French National Commission for UNESCO as part of its "Fit for Life" programme. Much more than just a sporting event, it is a socially responsible and supportive initiative designed to promote the values of Olympism, such as friendship, surpassing oneself and respect.
