Following the success of the inaugural Local Content Summit held in 2023, the much-anticipated 2024 Summit will be held on April 16, 2024, under the theme “Creating Value. Driving Economic Expansion”


The Local Content Legislation was enacted in Parliament in December 2021 with the intent of regulating the activities in the emerging Oil and Gas sector, in a manner that drives Guyana’s economic growth and the development. The Legislation outlines the process of achieving this though the creation of more opportunities for business, trade and commerce activities, the development of a skilled and responsive workforce and the building of strategic partnerships with international companies to create the capacity to actively participate within the Oil and Gas sector as well as in support and non-traditional sectors.


This year’s Summit will be held at Pegasus Suites and Corporate Centre and will stay true to its mandate of bringing together Policy Makers, Regulatory and Support Agencies and Organizations, Educators, Operators and Sub-Contractors, Industry experts, Vendors/Suppliers, Investors, and the Local Private Sector as well as other key stakeholders and interested parties in one forum.


Attendees can expect to hear from a balanced mix of speakers whose presentations, panel discussions and testimonials will highlight critical decision-making information that are centered around the key areas of focus of the Local Content Legislation such as supply chain, procurement, employment, capacity development and market analysis. This will allow them to better understand the benefits of becoming Local Content certified and how to identify and capitalize on available and upcoming opportunities.


The Local Content Summit is a collaboration of MBW Energy Support Services, Prestige Management Consultants, and the Ministry of Natural Resources, Local Content Secretariat.
