A Trio Midnight stílusa elsősorban standardekre és Oláh Kálmán egyéni, különleges zenei világú kompozícióira épülő, a jazz anyanyelvének számító bebopot megőrző, ugyanakkor többféle irányzatot magába olvasztó kreatív muzsika. Zenéjük lényegi része a kollektív improvizáció. A Trio Midnight a legendás amerikai alt-szaxofonos, Lee Konitz egyik kedvenc kísérő együttese.
