Sikkim is a state in India located in the northeastern part of the country, in the eastern Himalayas. It is one of the smallest states in India. Sikkim is bordered by the Tibetan Autonomous Region of China to the north and northeast, Bhutan to the southeast, the Indian state of West Bengal to the south, and Nepal to the west. The capital is Gangtok, in the southeastern part of the state

Until 1975, Sikkim was a separate state, with royal authority, its own culture and laws. Sikkim is still very different from the rest of India. The reason for this is a long history of own development. Traditions and heritage are preserved.
It is home to Kanchenjunga, India's highest peak and the third highest on Earth. Its height is 8,586 m. Mystics familiar with ancient tantric texts say that the Kanchenjunga area has a portal to the world of immortality.
