Breaking Barriers Conference- Employment for Deaf People
Dublin | Updated: March 29, 2024 12:34 AMLocation: Irish Human Rights and Equality Commission
Address: 16-22 Green Street, D07 CR20 Dublin 7
Date: 10 Apr
This is an exciting opportunity to attend a conference event being organised by Irish Deaf
Society. The aim of the conference is to launch a policy paper based on the results of the
research on deaf people’s negative experiences in the workplace and while looking for jobs.
The research project is funded by the IHREC Grant Scheme 2022-23. The conference is a half-day event which we expect to be attended by about 50-60 people. A conference programme
will follow soon. We have selected a few presenters. One of them is Dr Noel O’Connell who
will present the results of the research he did when deaf people shared their negative
experience of employment. ISL interpreters will be provided for the conference.
