I’m really excited to launch the Oxfordshire STARS Transylvania Trek in aid of Marie Curie and I’ve attached a poster for your information (do email me for the full itinerary).
This amazing 7 day adventure will involve walking up to 10 miles per day for 4 days and is classed as a moderate trek. During the trip, you will explore the dramatic landscape and unspoilt natural valleys of the Carpathian mountains. You will experience the history, myth, intrigue and magic of the wonderful Bran Castle (home of Dracula). You’ll absorb yourself in the scenery of remote medieval villages, watch bears feeding in a local bear sanctuary and go truffle hunting with dogs. After all of the walking and sightseeing you will spend two nights in the beautiful city of Brasov. Here you can relax, explore the town, or enjoy the local beer, food and music at Romania’s largest Oktoberfest (which oddly enough takes place every September – not October!).
