Our own SWYC member Patty Maxfield is also an active member of the USCG Auxiliary. Patty will be presenting the USCG-approved Paddle Craft Course. The content includes risk mitigation, terminology, types of paddle craft, general safety, clothing, pre and post trip planning and requirements, communication, situational awareness, emergencies/prevention, weather and currents, navigation rules, SUP and fishing considerations, resources and mobile phone apps. Patty will also cover proper VHF radio usage.
Come at 5:00 for pizza, beverages and conversation. Patty will start the course program at 5:30. RSVP on the Group Me Event or let Barb Grimlund know you are coming.
