Patrick Henry is most known for his infamous "Give me liberty or give me death" speech. Well-beloved and often quoted, most people do not know the man behind these words. Henry fought against the tyranny of the British government while having to cope with a difficult home life. Patrick's wife, Sarah, began showing signs of mental illness after giving birth to her final child, Edward. Told to put his wife in an asylum, Henry refused and did his best to care for her despite her mental state becoming so erratic that he had to build a safe room for her in the cellar.
