Join us for the U.S. Army Shreveport Savage Company's D-Day 80th Anniversary Commemorative Norwegian Foot March (NFM) Event at Barksdale Air Force Base. Pay tribute to our heroes and experience the camaraderie of fellow marchers. Experience the thrill of completing these marches on this special anniversary. The Norwegian Foot March is an individual event consisting of an 18.6-mile ruck march that will extend overnight. Upon successful completion of this march, participants will receive the NFM Certificate and will have the opportunity to obtain the DOD-recognized foreign award that can be worn on dress uniform.

Only certificates will be delivered to those who successfully meet the NFM requirements of the march.

Important Information

-This event is only for personnel who are at least 18 years of age and/or on active-duty (title 10) orders. All participants mujst have DOD access to Barksdale Air Force Base.

-Be at Hoban Hall at least 1 hour before step off time (2000) for accountability, briefing, and bag weigh-in.

-Timeline: at 2000: show up for registration, rucksack weigh-in and mandatory briefing. 2100: safety and route briefing. 2200: step off. Endex no later than 0600 (May 19, 2024) .

-Military style rucksack/backpack must be worn throughout the event. Without water added it must weigh 25 lbs. at both start and finish lines. Civilian participants may use civilian version of rucksack.

-Military personnel must wear field uniform within regulations during the march. Civilian participants may wear civilian clothing, including long trousers and boots. Must bring head lamp with batteries, reflective belt, water source (one camelback or equivalent)

-Participants are encouraged but not required to bring a Non-Perishable Food donation as a registration SIGN-UP FEE.

-"ALL NON-PERISHABLE FOOD ITEMS WILL BE DONATED TO LOCAL COMMUNITY ORGANIZATIONS"

-"ALL PARTICIPANTS WILL RECEIVE A CERTIFICATE OF PARTICIPATION AT THE CONCLUSION OF THE EVENT

NFM Competition Standards:

-Complete the 18.6-mile route within the time standard (see below) wearing duty uniform and boots.

-Rucksack or military backpack with 25 pounds (Dry)
