Date: 10 March
The Sunday Afternoons at the Arts Center series continues on March 10 at 3 pm, with Dwayne Tomah, Director of the Passamaquoddy Museum at Sipayik and the tribe’s Language Protector. This time he will discuss several aspects of his life’s work: the preservation of the Passamaquoddy language, including the evolution of the language, the development of a writing system and the continuing usefulness of the wax cylinders recorded in Calais in the 1890s.
Offered by voluntary donation, with proceeds shared equally between the presenters and EAC ongoing program The Concert Series, which offers year-round programming run by volunteers. No one will be turned away for lack of funds. The full series schedule, which runs weekly through early April, skipping Easter Sunday, may be found at eastportartscenter.org/the-concert-series.
