Dr Akira Miyawaki developed his forest restoration method in the 1970s as post World War II industrial development resulted in rapid deforestation and pollution. Mini-forests- also known as “tiny forests" or "pocket forests” – have been planted on all continents save Antarctica. Join us as we discuss ways to implement this in our area. Books are available at Compass Rose Books in Castine and BookStacks in Bucksport. This event is co-sponsored with Witherle Memorial Library. 10 AM-12 PM.
