The Upper Valley Youth Wellness Retreat will be held for 3 weeks in July. This daily retreat will focus on youth wellness and mental health. The retreat is for youth in grades 2nd-12th. Youth will be taught what anxiety is and how it works. They will learn coping skills and how to manage their anxiety. They will learn youth emotional CPR, a concept on how to support themselves and others through emotional crisis, but more importantly, how to connect on a heart to heart level with other human beings.
Through equine wellness, they will learn to connect with themselves and another living creatures. Horse's themselves feed off our emotions and students will learn about the energy they are putting out to others, even when they think they are doing ok.
They will create new friendships and find new trusted adults. Youth will hike, swim, sing, dance, learn, and have fun. This is an opportunity for youth to connect with others who are like-minded with a focus on metal health.
The retreat is broken down into 3 weeks. The minimum sign up requirement is one week. We would like youth to participate in all 3 but understand if they can not. Each week is broken up into themes: Connect, emPower, and Revitalize. These three concepts will be important to their social and emotional growth.
All youth should pack a lunch daily. If they are unable to do so please let us know.
