What is SPADES? Self Preservation and Defensive Engagement Skills. The objective of this workout is to teach female athletes techniques for avoiding physical assault and to physically defend themselves, in close quarters, without a weapon present.

Class is limited to 6 women and is a 3-hour event from 10:00 AM – 1:00 PM on April 6. Must be 18 or older to participate.

Lunch and an exclusive t-shirt are included in registration costs. Cost is $149 (plus taxes & fees) per person.

Workshop is taught by the one and only, Coach Gretchen. In addition to her CF-L1, Gretchen has served many roles in her life as a fire investigator, uniformed officer, special agent, firefighter, EMS, and military. She has over 13 years of experience in law enforcement and several academy credentials:

  • Natural Resource Police Training (NRPT)
  • Criminal Investigator Training Program (CITP)
  • Marine Law Enforcement Training Program (MLETP)
  • Drug Enforcement Training Program (DETP)
