Join local clean water advocates for a cleanup at Sleightsburgh Park for the Riverkeeper SWEEP on Saturday, May 4, 2024. This is a rain or shine event.

Volunteers will meet at the boat launch down the gravel road from the entrance of Sleightsburgh Park, on Everson Street and Front Street, Port Ewen, NY. Please park at the entrance of the park before the gate. If the lot is full, drive down the road to see if there's parking at the boat launch.

We recommend that all Sweep volunteers bring a hat, sunscreen, a full reusable water bottle, insect repellent, work gloves and hand sanitizer.

This site is suitable for elementary-aged children with adult supervision.

  • Volunteers are required to pre-register for Sweep.
  • Volunteers should not participate if they have ANY signs of illness or if they have potentially been exposed to COVID-19.

Over the last 12 years, Sweep leaders have completed 1,199 service projects, bringing together thousands of volunteers from NYC to the Adirondacks to clean up 355 tons of debris, and plant or maintain 7,130 native plants. This incredible effort is made possible by the generosity of our members, sponsors, and donors.
