IFHC will present the fair housing basics and fair housing hot topics and trends under all protected classes—Equal Access and Bostock, VAWA/FHA Protections for Victims of Domestic Violence, Sexual Assault, Stalking and Violence, and HUD’s New Reasonable Accommodation and Assistance Animal Technical Assistance Tools.

About The Presenters:

Monica Fabbi studied Theater Arts at the University of Idaho, graduating in 1993, and worked in regional theater for 20 years as a tech director, stage manager, special effects technician, and more. In 2013, Monica switched gears, entering Concordia University School of law in the fall of 2013. She graduated in 2016 and was admitted to Idaho State Bar the following year. She began with the Intermountain Fair Housing Council that same year as an investigator and, In 2022, Monica was promoted to staff attorney. Since graduating and joining the IFHC, Monica has tirelessly advocated for Idahoans of all protected classes, as well as mentored colleagues, and continues to provide regular education to cities, housing providers, health care providers, and individuals through both written and in person testimony and at city land use meetings, community gatherings, and other informational events and today is one of our senior staff attorneys.

Sarah Jareczek joined IFHC in July of 2021 as the Community Outreach Specialist. Her specialty is content creation and community-based education. Sarah’s work includes educational literature, social media engagement, and material distribution in what she describes as an all-out effort to give everyone the tools they need to advocate for housing rights. Sarah graduated in 2013 with a Bachelor of Arts in Multi-Ethnic Studies which is where her housing justice advocacy began. She has volunteered with countless nonprofit organizations around the treasure valley and considers her time at IFHC to be the most meaningful thing she has pursued in her lifetime.

Anna Marie Young investigates housing discrimination allegations and submits complaints to HUD. She advocates for clients for Reasonable Accommodation Requests to housing providers, ensuring that our clients’ rights are protected under the Fair Housing Act. Anna Marie earned a degree in Community and Regional Development from UC Davis; her emphasis was in Land-use and Transportation Planning & Policy. As a student, Anna Marie led the efforts to subsidize and improve bus service for community college students. Later she was hired by WALKSacramento to develop a plan to improve pedestrian/bicycle/transit access to all 4 community colleges in Sacramento. Anna Marie has built upon her desire to serve our communities into a passion to advance equity in our community.
