For over 30 years, the month of March has been designated as National Music In Our Schools Month®. Douglas County Commissioners Chris Boice, Tim Freeman and Tom Kress are proud to support the annual concert tradition and encourage everyone to join us in celebrating the profound impact that music education has on our youth and our local communities.
The live concert will run from 10:00 am to 12:45 pm inside the Douglas County Courthouse located at 1036 SE Douglas Ave in Roseburg and will feature band and choral performances from various local school and community music programs.
The purpose of our musical celebration on March 6, 2024, is to raise awareness of the lasting positive impact music education has on the academic, personal, and professional growth of our local students. We know that music education shapes the way our students understand themselves and the world around them, allowing for a deeper engagement in all aspects of learning and life experiences.
