---

In the STA Speaker Series January session, Anna Miller reviewed the "state of knowledge" regarding recreation's effect on wildlife. Join us on April 15th for a follow-up session focused on the human aspect and the question: How do we respond to recreation's effects on wildlife?

What are our answers to that question, and why might they vary from person to person? Do our perspectives depend on factors such as…

• Our individual philosophies and ethics, including how we view our relationship with nature?

• The conservation status of individual species?

• Our understanding of how recreation affects wildlife – and how recreation relates to other factors affecting wildlife?

• The role of recreation in our lives – physically, psychologically, socially, and economically?

• The availability of good alternatives if trails are closed for wildlife in certain areas or seasons?

The session will start with a brief summary and conceptual model, with most of the session focused on discussing and understanding the range of perspectives in Sisters Country. The session will be led by Kreg Lindberg, who has spent the past 35 years teaching and researching on recreation, tourism, and conservation topics.
