After Cocteau and Prévert, the Open piano quartet has chosen to invite Boris Vian to the stylish Villa Louis.
Of Boris Vian, Jacques Prévert wrote: "(...) Boris played life like others play the stock market, cops and robbers, but not like a cheat: like a lord (?)". Boris Vian, who died too soon, was a pillar of the Paris jazz cellars and a gifted centralien. As he wrote in an imagined face-to-face interview, he was "a jack-of-all-trades, good at nothing".
Above all, he was a brilliant jack-of-all-trades: painting, theater, music, song, detective or fantasy literature ("L?écume des jours"), translation, music criticism, various inventions, word and note games and many other talents?
Boris Vian left us a protean body of work, rich and funny, melancholy and realistic, which blends perfectly with the whimsical and idiosyncratic Villa Louis music room.
