The "lights on" of Christmas Village in Silay City Public Plaza is one of the most awaited event of locals every month of December. The local government of Silay facilitates the set-up of lights in the public plaza. The huge trees and plants are surrounded with Christmas lights set-up by the city and each Barangay competes by making a Christmas arc to represent their place. The arcs surround the whole of public plaza and are lighted on. To top the event, there is a huge Christmas Tree set-up in the fountain area that will be lighted as well and it will be presented with a loud cheer along with fireworks display.
